ORC International is currently embarking on an ambitous new online research platform to facilitate data mining, visualisation and analytics. We are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to join our friendly team for an initial 6 months contract assignment.

- Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to

gather and analyse application requirements

- With members of the insights team, you will design and develop data mining, visualisation and analytics at the individual supplier level

- You will develop and refine segmentations, scoring models and predictive methods for use in a variety of research circumstances.

- You will work with the wider transformation teams as they adopt advanced analytics insights

- You will be working with Architecture team and provide technical guidance and inputs

- You will enhance your skills and knowledge in data science, and keep up to date with the latest developments in the field

Preferred Background and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistical Science or equivalent experience

- You’re analytical, naturally inquisitive, and enjoy problem solving. You’re driven to understand why things happen

- You excel in:

- Data mining, analysis, visualization and interpretation. Skills in some or all of the following are a great benefit:

- Statistical modelling tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS)

- HIVE or similar SQL based languages

- Hadoop or similar predictive analytics and "Big Data" tools

- Visualisation (for example Tableau or D3 or Power BI)

- Presentation of your findings

- You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- You can collaborate across organisational boundaries, embrace change, work in matrix management arrangements and be deployed to different teams and projects - You have excellent interpersonal skills

- You build rapport and credible, trusted, strong working relationships
