We’re looking for creative solutions to interesting problems.

You don’t settle for ordinary. In fact, you actively seek out the most innovative, effective and creative solutions to interesting problems. And that’s exactly what we’ll encourage here at HMGCC. Our multi-disciplinary teams design secure communications systems for HM Government in the UK, and overseas. You’ll have the chance to work on a range of complex, absorbing projects - all while helping to safeguard the country and its interests.

The role

Collaborative and proactive, you’ll get involved with the whole lifecycle - everything from designing and developing solutions, to testing and maintaining software. It’s about working with challenging technical problems, and coming up with solutions that are forward thinking. Our projects are one-of-a-kind, so you’ll find yourself adapting to situations and tight deadlines. You’ll also be expected to deliver work packages as part of a team, and independently - always supporting colleagues along the way. In fact, your expertise will inspire junior developers.

Your profile

You’ll be able to design, develop and test software in one or more of: C/C++, C#, Objective-C and Java.

You’ll be able to develop for one or more of: Windows, Linux, macOS, Android or iOS.

You’ll understand and intelligently debug existing and new software.

You can deliver modules of substantial software systems unaided.

You can reason about the performance of different data structures and algorithms.

Genuinely passionate about computing, you’ll be keen to find unique solutions. Although it’s not essential, it would be a huge advantage to have scripting skills and experience of object oriented programming. Experience of TDD / Agile / Scrum would also be beneficial.

Rewards

In return, we’ll provide all the training you need to develop your skills. You’ll also get a great rewards package that includes flexible hours and a welcoming workplace.
