Creating a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment.

Here at Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) Ltd, our mission is to deliver a geological disposal facility (GDF) to deal with the UK’s nuclear waste and provide radioactive waste management solutions. The GDF represents a major multi-million pound national infrastructure programme which will isolate high level waste deep underground, creating a safer future.

We are now looking for a talented individual to bring specialist project management capabilities to our Waste Management department. This will mean managing key projects and working collaboratively with internal colleagues and a range of external stakeholders to implement best-in-class project management practices and risk management systems. Drawing on your expertise and influencing skills, you will contribute to the technical work of the teams and ensure they deliver successful organisational outcomes.

This is a role that demands substantial project and business management knowledge and experience - at Association of Project Management Practitioner level or equivalent. Whatever your background, you will have managed projects with high reputational risks attached to them and a wide network of contacts. With this profile, you will become a professional, influential ambassador for RWM.

In return, you will have an exceptional opportunity to apply and further develop your talents. Whether or not you have experience in radioactive waste management and the nuclear sector, we will support you here and ensure that you make a full contribution.

About us

RWM is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. A 2014 White Paper provides the Government’s framework for ‘Implementing Geological Disposal’. Identifying and developing a suitable site for a GDF is based on the principle of working with communities willing to participate in the process.
