Job Summary

In Bupa, we are implementing cloud based technology platforms to support a number of our core business processes.

This role will be accountable for providing architectural direction, advice and guidance to these implementations. It will ensure that they have the required architecture to deliver successfully and in alignment with the overall Bupa IT Strategy during initial implementation and throughout their lifecycle

The role holder will have broad experience across the different architecture domains but will have a focus on application and data architecture.

They will develop IT strategies and associated roadmaps to support the implementation of these platforms and their required integrations

The role is expected to provide assurance and direction to business change teams, shaping their work to ensure successful delivery

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise and business architecture

 -     Engages with ongoing and planned change programmes to provide leadership and support for our cloud based platforms

      -     Ensures compliance with broader Bupa architecture strategies, policies, standards and practices.

      -     Acts as a bridge between the businesses and technology communities to identify opportunities for technology enabled change that supports the local businesses roadmap and the Bupa corporate strategy.

      -     Conducts feasibility studies into new technologies and approaches, building the case for investment and managing their introduction as appropriate.

      -     Works with colleagues across Bupa to identify opportunities for reuse, repeatability etc.

Solution Architecture

      -     Development of architectures for Global Functions, ensuring that they meet the business requirements and objectives

      -     Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to.

      -     Devises policies and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within Global Functions

Consultancy

      -     Build relationships with business and technology stakeholders across Bupa

      -     Provide architectural consulting to programs, projects and initiatives.

Emerging technology monitoring

      -     Identify new and emerging technologies and products and assess their relevance and

      -     potential value to the organisation, briefing of staff and management where relevant

Essential Skills

      -     Extensive experience of operating at a senior level and the ability to demonstrate financial and business acumen

      -     Experience in working to shape and deliver IT strategies that enable business change

      -     Extensive experience of technology architecture

      -     Extensive experience of the development of integration architectures and associated strategies

      -     Experience of complex technology environments

      -     Experience of planning and managing budgets

      -     Strong negotiator with strong influencing and facilitation skills

      -     TOGAF 9 certification
