My client was established in 1987 and are a software development house specialising in Microsoft technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.NET, C#, VB.Net and Xamarin for mobile development. They now have a requirement to expand out repertoire to include PHP and MYSQL development.

They work for a wide range of clients ranging from blue chip corporates where we may supplement an existing development team, to small SMEs where we provide a complete system design, develop and implementation service. This means they undertake varied and interesting projects across different business sectors.

Based in Chelmsford, Essex with easy access to the A12/A130 and try to recruit locally where they can.

With a flat management structure developers are encouraged to learn and develop their skills. They look to develop a long term relationship with our staff and value their contribution to the company.

Senior PHP Developer

Working in a small friendly team, they require developers with a minimum of two years PHP programming

experience together with good database design and MySQL knowledge. They will be responsible for

supporting existing client developments as well as designing and developing new applications.

The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and

organization abilities.

A candidate for this position must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment.

Duties, Skills and Responsibilities

-Develop new and maintain existing Web and Intranet applications

-Undertake the full development lifecycle from understanding requirements through to testing and

ongoing support

-Willingness to study for relevant Certifications

-Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn

-Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.

-Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

-Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organisational, and presentation skills.

-Good spoken and written English for client communications and documentation

-Be able to listen to what the brief is, comprehend it and question it if so required.

-Be able to ensure quality and error checking is a priority.
