About the role

As a senior project manager you will be responsible for leading cross directorate teams to deliver the major elements of change that will achieve our strategy. Working directly with some of the most senior people within the organisation you will ensure projects and programmes are run in a controlled way with the focus always on the delivery of the desired outcomes.

You will take on the largest and most complex projects and programmes always with an awareness of how your work fits into and contributes to the overall strategy. You will build relationships across the organisation, identifying talent for project teams and proactively identifying blockers and obstacles to project success.

You will be responsible for mentoring, developing and supporting Projects Managers in the PMO and have a key role in developing the role of the PMO in the organisation.

As part of a busy Project Management Office you will work across the whole business. You might be delivering projects supporting the growth or change of the organisation, introducing new technology, developing new services or products to people affected by dementia, launching new campaigns to bring millions to our cause. Always at the frontline of change in the organisation, project managers are fundamental to the delivery of our ambitious, bold strategy to transform the experience of people affected by dementia. You will structure and deliver complex programmes with project managers reporting into you.

About you

You have a deep understanding and experience of project management and a familiarity with a variety of methodologies You have a proven record of delivering large and complex projects in large organisations and have managed projects with budgets up to a £million and with large cross organisation project teams.

You will be familiar with IT project management, but not only IT project management, and the delivery of both applications and infrastructure in line with industry standard approaches. You will have the ability to talk confidently and clearly to many audiences from the back office to the frontline to the board room and the gravitas to be taken seriously in all those environments.

You have both been there and done that and have the hard won experience necessary to deliver the big changes we need to deliver our ambitious strategy and the enthusiasm to use those skills to make real and positive change in the world. You will have the flexibility, pragmatism and influencing skills to make project management work in the real world.
