Incredible variety, rapid pace and real change. You’ll enjoy all those things and more as a Scrum Master in our brand new Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence. We’ll look to you to lead cross-departmental sprint teams and coordinate the development of end to end solutions. You’ll enjoy the scope to work across an exciting mix of traditional RDBMS, Big Data, digital and new open source platforms with a range of tools and technologies. No two sprints will ever be the same.

Taking a bold approach, you’ll decide what’s in and out of scope for delivery within each sprint. Making quick decisions about how to proceed and what to prioritise, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to discuss how to deliver a sprint on time with best results. You’ll develop game-changing capabilities that are key to success of the company.

Everything we deliver is about optimising customer experience, creating more efficient ways to deliver value for them, and delivering great products. You’ll play a key role, driving analytical insight into how we serve customers, how efficient we are and how we can improve things for them. Your responsibilities will range from standup meetings to removing blockers, to coaching team members and championing agile approaches.

The variety of projects will be fascinating - from supply chain, to customer focus, to commercial optimisation, all around the country. You’ll take solutions from inception to viable product. You’ll get involved in rapid prototype delivery and innovation. Crucially, you’ll see the impact of your sprints happen rapidly. For example, you could make a big difference to what products we put on the shelves, in what mix and quantity to best meet our customers’ needs. Visit a store after the change has been implemented and you’ll see our power to surprise and delight consumers first-hand.

Along the way, you’ll work with leading edge tools, tech and capabilities, and developers at top of their game. We’ll expect you to use data in ways that are appropriate for the company, and to do the right thing for customers. After all, we don’t just need to release value from information we hold about customers, colleagues and commercial performance - we also need to protect it.

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need a full understanding of Agile methodology and experience of applying Scrum principles, practices and theory. You’re familiar with the applications of data from reporting through to data science. It’s your people skills that will really set you apart. Matrix management skills are also essential. A real influencer, you’ll facilitate positions, make strong decisions, and take a team of people on a journey to deliver an innovative solution.
