Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting to a number of IT and digital roles.

Brighton & Hove is a vibrant, digitally innovative and connected city, at the heart of its city region and at the centre of a number of local and regional initiatives with public, private and 3rd sector partners, offering opportunities to engage with a variety of stakeholders and partners and really make a difference to people who live and work here.

The Council is well into a multi-year programme of organisational modernisation, including renewal of core IT platforms and infrastructure, digital innovation and many business change programmes and projects in which IT is a key partner. We are also establishing close ties with East Sussex County Council and Surrey County Council through the Orbis partnership, which provides professional and technical support services for its partner organisations.

This is an exciting time to join our team. We are an ambitious and forward looking IT department with skills in a range of enterprise technologies and digital delivery practices. Working in a fast paced environment, in the heart of the City and close to the seafront, these roles offer great opportunity for gaining substantial professional and technical experience.

We are seeking energetic and flexible individuals to work with colleagues across the department and with our Orbis partners to lead on the co-ordination and delivery of our infrastructure and IT platform refresh programme as part of the council’s modernisation agenda, and the new programme of work towards Orbis integration. You will have a proven track record of successful delivery of complex, large scale technical change projects and programmes and be experienced in disciplined approaches using appropriate methodologies (MSP, PRINCE2, Agile), change management, resource management and governance processes.

You will be a strategic thinker, have strong leadership skills and be able to influence at a senior level in a large, complex and political organisation.

If you feel you are a good fit for one or more of the roles we are advertising, we want to hear from you. We do not accept CVs so please submit an application for each role you wish to be considered for. Please read the application pack carefully and ensure that your response addresses each point in the Person Specification, with examples.
