Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting to a number of IT and digital roles.

The Council is well into a multi-year programme of organisational modernisation, including renewal of core IT platforms and infrastructure, digital innovation and many business change programmes and projects in which IT is a key partner. We are also establishing close ties with East Sussex County Council and Surrey County Council through the Orbis partnership, which provides professional and technical support services for its partner organisations.

This is an opportunity to join the data solutions team, a busy and fast-moving team engaged in the development of business intelligence solutions across a wide variety of systems. We support the introduction and use of business intelligence, analytics and data-matching, using tools within the SAP suite, such as Business Objects, Universe Design Tool, Information Design Tool, Lumira and Predictive Analytics.

The person we are looking for will be creative and focused, with good communication skills. We are also looking for someone who is able to understand business requirements with an aptitude for interpreting data across many systems, but who also possesses the requisite analytical and development skills. You will act as a subject matter expert in an area of business data and management information needs, as well as having a creative streak in how that information can be presented in an imaginative and useful way.

We need someone who works well with a team, including working with and supporting our business customers to understand their needs and learning requirements.

Previous experience of some of the products we currently use will be an advantage. These include those mentioned above, as well as Oracle/SQL Server experience.
