New transformational program for a UK customer focusing on Big Data and advanced visualization capabilities.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Big Data third Line Support Lead with experience lead a team of third line support team with Big Data technology expertise.

We are looking for the lead to have expertise in Java, Scala, Kafka, Samsa, HBase, HDFS, preferably Hortonworks Distribution, and Python with a focus on distributed, highly scalable and high performance computing.

SC Clearance or being eligible for SC clearance

Key Responsibilities

-Manage team between up to five people

-Incident resolution and supporting production system deployments while ensuring SLAs are met.

-Past experience working in DevOps model

-Deliver on Time to Resolve and Time to detect reduction efforts.

-Identify and contribute to long term solutions and preventative techniques.

-Increasing Self Healing through closed loop automation.

-Collaborating with other tech leads and support teams to ensure integrated end to end availability, reliability, and performance.

-Support and deliver within Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery pipelines

-Equipping systems with automated monitoring and alerting.

-Support the team and contribute to designing, writing and delivering technical and process automations to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency

Essential skills and experience:

-Past experience of managing third line support for a Big Data application

-AWS cloud services configuration and administration

-Chef, Ansible, Puppet or UDeploy

-Jenkins, Codeship, or Travis

-Restful web/API services support and deployment

-Linux, UNIX, AIX, or Openstack administration

-Apache Webserver, Tomcat, or Weblogic

-Python, Ruby, Go, Javascript development experience

-Mongo, Hadoop, Casandra administration

-Developing on monitoring systems: Splunk, BlueStripe, or Zabbix or similar

Ideal candidates will also have:

-Oracle, Postgres

-Apache Camel, Knox, Ranger

-Enterprise Integration Patterns

-Kubernetes

-Docker

-Ansible, Terraform

-JIRA

-Confluence

-Experience in Dynamo DB and nice to have Datastax Graph, Gremlin

-Government experience

-Knowledge of networking, DevOps,

-Enterprise Business Intelligence and Analytics

-Demonstrate ability to develop, implement and maintain a set of Java based operations and data services that provides a transactional and analytical platform.

This requires the use of

-Open source frameworks and technologies such as Java, JBoss RESTEasy, Tomcat and Google Guice, and

CI and containerisation technologies such as Ambari, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes
