Permanent Lead Analyst Developer (Sharepoint Administrator & Developer)

Location: Holyrood

As part of the Scottish Parliament’s Business Information Technology Office, you will be joining a team responsible for supporting, developing and maintaining the IT solutions which facilitate the business of the Parliament and its Members (MSPs). Your role will be to support, develop, manage and maintain our on premise and cloud-based Sharepoint platforms.

You will be responsible for leading on the administration, support, resilience, maintenance, design, development & future roadmap of the technologies and business services that comprise the Parliament’s on premise and cloud-based Sharepoint platforms. These platforms host the services and systems that are critical in facilitating Parliamentary business and as such, you will be tasked with ensuring the ongoing integrity, availability and performance of these Sharepoint platforms and the services running on them. Additionally, you will be required to maintain and further develop the policies and procedures required to successfully manage these Sharepoint platforms.

With relevant professional experience, ideally with a relevant degree or professional diploma in IT, you will have experience and knowledge of the administration, configuration, maintenance and support of an enterprise Sharepoint platform. You will also have experience of support and development in a significant range of the following tools and technologies; Sharepoint, InfoPath, VB.NET, C#, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server Reporting Services, WCF, PowerShell, Windows and Web-based Applications. Knowledge and experience of Angular JS, MVC and/or WPF would also be advantageous.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels. You will have strong and flexible team working skills with a willingness to share knowledge and support your colleagues as the business requires. You will also be an excellent problem solver and have good decision making skills with the ability to take ownership of and responsibility for the planning, organising and delivery of your work through to completion.
