A pivotal role for a proven transformation programme leader to drive and actively manage a strategically important transformation programme, designed to increase organisational capacity and capability across the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

The CMA works to promote competition, within and outside the UK. Our mission is to make markets work well in the interests of consumers, businesses and the economy. For those who join us it offers a uniquely exciting professional opportunity.

As Transformation Programme Lead, you will be responsible for embedding a single, coherent programme of change that both embraces existing projects across different specialisms (e.g. Finance, IT, Facilities) and identifies additional requirements, to ensure we obtain maximum value from the programme. The programme will incorporate projects that provide the systems, processes and platforms to support transformation, together with projects that develop new capability, behaviours and ways of working, to drive and embed lasting transformation.

Key initiatives as part of this transformation include building organisational project management capability; developing and implementing a leadership and management programme; embedding new IT programmes; the planning and relocation of our office within London, and the opening of a new Scotland based office.

Your track record will include experience of designing and delivering organisational change programmes across complex organisations, including their associated governance and reporting. Particularly given the profile and scale of the programme, excellent communication and influencing skills are a necessity: as well as chairing the Transformation Board, you’ll deliver engaging presentations; facilitate workshops; and work with senior stakeholders across the organisation, up to and including the Board.

Highly organised, resilient and results-focused, your proven ability to deliver multiple projects to specification, budget and timeline, coupled with your ability to effectively adapt to project changes, will round off your profile.

All CMA staff enjoy generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers, our employee wellbeing programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.
