What you’ll do:

In this role you will be based in the euNetworks’ IT team in Frankfurt Am Main, Germany supporting the wider team with the administration of Linux/Unix based servers and services for internal and external customers

Main day-to-day duties include:

Administration of operating systems: CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu and Debian:

- Sole responsibility for managing assigned projects and tasks with focus on Linux operating systems

- Answering technical queries and action IT support cases in a ticket system where requests coming from predominantly internal customers

- Configure and applying half and fully automated operating system updates

- Conducting health and security checks of systems and applications

- Installing and configuring cloud environments, virtual servers, hardware and software

- Adding/deleting/creating/modifying user access (local, Active directory, RADIUS or TACACS+)

- Performing backup and restore of data

- Troubleshooting any reported problems

- Creating and updating documentation of systems

- Analyzing and optimizing systems performances Providing application support for Nagios, Syslog, Network management systems

General Administration of databases

- Administration of DB systems: Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL

- Controlling user and systems access to databases

- Troubleshooting any reported problems with help of the team or 3rd party support

- Purging log files

- Performing backup and restore of data

General Switch and Firewall configuration

- Configuring access- and trunk-ports

- Adjusting firewall rules

- Patching cables and installing modules

- Troubleshooting any reported problems with help of the team or 3rd party support

Miscellaneous IT duties

- Conducting purchase orders for IT material

- Asset tracking and warranty control

- Miscellaneous IT duties in the euNetworks data centres and in the euNetworks offices. For example, support the first level members in the teams during peaks in workload. Writing announcements to inform internal customers about important issues.

You’ll have following the qualifications and experience including:

- 3+ years relevant experience in IT business/system administration

- Diploma or master in computer science or proven yearlong experience in IT Systems Administration

- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

- Strong customer service orientated attitude

- Analytical and creative thinking skills, with development of pragmatic solutions to internal customer requirements.

- Have sole responsibility to fulfil and organize the daily tasks

- Fluent English language skills are a must

- German language skills would be advantageous

- You must have the willingness and ability to work in a team and help out with other tasks as required
