DBA / SQL Developer - Business Intelligence, Data & Reporting - Data Warehousing - Norfolk

Principle Accountabilities:

? Install and upgrade database and other software applications, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. ? Create, configure, maintain, backup, secure and decommission SQL instances/databases. ? Promote / deploy packages and scripts. ? Liaise with our external software vendors as appropriate (e.g. to log issues) ? Monitor trends in database activity. Initiate regular exercises to optimise database performance. ? Plan for backup and recovery of database information, ensuring backups are carried out as per plans; plan and manage exercises to prove recovery procedures. Ensure that recovery plans are tested regularly. Implement recovery procedures when necessary. ? Manage database resources, including allocation of system storage. Plan for future storage requirements, and prepare cases for additional resources. ? Undertake Data Integration and Warehousing tasks, including developing SSIS Packages and writing complex T-SQL statements. ? Support BI Development Team where required with SSAS/SSRS activities.

Essential:

? Demonstrable experience in administrating and developing against Microsoft SQL Server databases (2000 to 2016) ? Good experience of Transact-SQL (T-SQL) ? ETL data integration experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) ? Experience in database Performance Tuning and optimisation ? An organised, methodical and detailed self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised ? Strong communicator, capable of building and maintaining relationships ? Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines ? Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative ? Willingness for occasional travel between London and Norwich office locations

Desirable:

? Degree or Professional Qualification in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related IT Science subject ? Demonstrable experience in administrating and developing against Microsoft SQL Server databases (2012 or later) ? Experience of Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and MDX/DAX ? Experience of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) ? Knowledge of Data Warehouse Methodologies (e.g. Kimball) ? Related DBA / Development Certification (e.g. MCP, ITIL) ? Experience using the Agile development methodology ? Knowledge of Business Objects

This role has been approved as a 12 month fixed term position, with the possibility of it changing to a full permanent role, looking to interview ASAP.
