IT Associate Developer
London - £26,000 p/a
Your Opportunity
As an IT Associate Developer, you will work on a contract with our Big 4 client, working within their Managed Solutions, IT team, focusing principally on the delivery of technology projects in the Financial Services sector; including work for blue-chip clients; There are currently a number of exciting RPA (Robotic Process Automation) projects which are likely to be your first assignments (training on RPA will be given, as required).
Responsibilities
* Developing business and IT solutions using RPA technology to automate processes, working with different RPA vendor technologies (Automation Anywhere; Blue Prism; UiPath), and across multiple IT systems
* Deliver IT solutions, in collaboration with colleagues and individually
* Maintaining, enhancing and supporting existing IT solutions, in written C#, ASP, Access, Excel VBA, SQL etc.
* Producing Functional & Technical specification documents including process mapping
* Extraction and compilation of Management Information and models
* Implementing Design/Build/Test and Deploy phases for tactical IT Solutions
* Creation and execution of test strategies and scripts.
* Providing IT perspective and input to bids, proposals, RFPs, ITTs, PQQS etc.
* Working closely with professional developers to design & build IT solutions
* Undergoing training in IT (e.g. RPA, C#, SQL Server, .NET Framework)
* Participating in finance training, to gain business knowledge (e.g. a Diploma in Financial Planning is on offer)
* Undergoing training in Budgeting, Project Planning and Stakeholder Management
Technical Experience:
* Relevant degree in a numerate discipline, ideally Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or similar
* Aptitude/appetite for IT, the Financial Services sector, and consultancy/management potential
* Some IT Developer experience (e.g. Excel/Access VBA, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL Server)
Competency/Experience:
* Strong process mapping and requirements gathering ability, allied to excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Pragmatic and results-focused approach to delivery
* Some experience in using Microsoft Office Project to construct project plans
* Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel and VBA
Preferred Requirements
* Experience in the Financial Services Sector
* Experience using Robotic Process Automation, UI Path, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Python
* Other programming experience (ASP.NET, UNIX, R, Matlab, etc.)
* Experience/awareness of business process mapping tools and approaches
* Awareness/experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence such as machine learning
* Experience of/understanding of Reactive Design,HTML5, mobile application development
* Experience working in Agile/Tactical development environments
* SQL exposure (working knowledge of T-SQL, Views, Stored Procedures, SSIS, etc.)
* Scripting experience/awareness (e.g. VBScript, JavaScript, DOS batch file programming)
