This role represents a great opportunity to work in an innovative and dynamic team that supports and develops electronics systems which are used to support the timing, televising and organization of major events. You will be expected to show drive in specifying, designing, developing, debugging, testing and supporting high quality, reliable electronics solutions (in the office and the field).
Digital and mixed signal experience is a must, with a focus on data communication, processing and control systems. Practical experience of multilayer high speed PCB Design & Layout and Microprocessor design is essential, as is embedded systems (Inc FPGA's). Proven experience in VHDL is preferable and would be a considerable advantage.
Good communication skills are essential, as a key part of the role is to operate/ support effectively in a high pressured challenging environment. The role will demand good planning skills and the ability to effectively multi-task, hence being able to plan and implement projects consistent with the aims and objectives of the R&D Group.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has a methodical and structured approach to work, is self-sufficient, and is actually able to work well both unaided and within a dynamic team. We're recruiting for a senior position; hence you will be expected to bring senior qualities to the team, and be willing to play a key role in the evolution of the team.

Experience

. Electronics Engineering background
. Experience in High Speed Digital Design; clocking, termination schemes, differential signalling, signal integrity.
. Experience in PCB design & Layout; including impedance management, stack up specification and constraint management.
. Experience in power supply design, linear, switch mode and overall power distribution systems.
. Good understanding of Data Communication interfaces e.g. CAN, Ethernet
. Experienced in working with Microprocessors, Embedded Systems, Modern Digital Communications, Flash, DDR, SDRAM Memory and the latest FPGA Technology (Xilinx).
. Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks, and able to adapt effectively to very aggressive time-scales and changing objectives, ensuring tight deadlines are always achieved.
. Project Management skills with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Knowledge in a number of the following would be advantageous

- Shown technical leadership in time sensitive development environments, with the ability to mentor, nurture and motivate other team members
- VHDL
- Embedded software languages (C, C ++)
- Video/ Audio standards
- RF Systems
