Junior Project Manager - London - 250-300

Role Overview

Huxley Associates are looking to recruit a Junior Project Manager, based in London, on a 6 month contractual basis. Our client is looking for a Junior Project Manager to support the Programme Management function, to achieve its corporate and operational objectives.

The Junior Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating projects, managing issues, risks and dependencies ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget. In addition to this, the candidate will need to support the programme of change through effective communication and coordination at all levels of the organisation. Therefore the Junior Project Manager will be actively contributing to the growth and development of the group.

Role and responsibilities:

Provide the Programme Manager and project teams with effective support to enable them to develop and deliver programmes and projects.

* Contribute to the preparation of project documentation in a full project management life cycle including maintenance of project files and compilation of reports.

* Manage projects as delegated by the Programme Manager in accordance with defined project accountabilities.

* Establish controlled project quality procedures and administer all related project plans including quality, test and implementation plans.

* Manage project progress proactively, resolving issues through initiating appropriate corrective action.

* Ensure efficiency in allocation of resources across projects and provide timely and appropriate reporting ensuring escalation of critical issues.

* Develop team working principles with all areas of the organisation that encourage a positive and co-operative environment.

Key Requirements:

* Experience in a project environment preferably within a financial services organisation.

* Good project planning skills.

* Ability to use project management software.

* Advanced skills in Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

* People Management skills.

* First class communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

* Excellent planning and organisation skills.

* Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills with a Pro-active, 'can-do' behaviour and attitude.

* Self motivated and disciplined.

Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

* Manage project progress to defined budget and timescales up to implementation
