Senior IT Buyer

Whitley, Coventry

Duration - 9 Months

Rate - 27-29 per hour

Strategic Project Services an IT project Senior Buyer who has a broad background in the procurement of services, software and hardware with respect to high value, complex IT projects. Requirement to support internal IT function with respect to: potentially supervise 1 direct report

price and terms and conditions negotiation

providing commercial leadership

taking responsibility for conducting the tender / competition process

processing Purchase Orders commitments

having knowledge/expertise in relation to supplier quotations

maximising all available economies of scale and influencing the demand in order to optimise specification, marketplace opportunities and value for money

Skills Required:

Ability to think strategically

Supplier quotation evaluation

Commodity Knowledge of IT

Negotiation of both price and terms and conditions

Business Acumen / Commercial Outlook

Empathy and the Ability to Arbitrate

Leadership ability

Ability and confidence to interface with senior IT stakeholders.

Stand-a-lone competence

Competence on Microsoft Office

Skills Preferred:

A detailed understanding of terms and conditions pertaining to IT project services

Experience Required:

Prior experience in managing a small team # Previous experience in procuring, and negotiating high value, complex projects often in a time constrained

Experience Preferred:

Experience in procuring and negotiating projects involving deployment of SAP products

Education Required:

Preferably Degree albeit this is not a necessity.

Education Preferred:

CIPS qualification

Competence in project management

Additional Information :

40 hr week - 3.30 Friday finish
