A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious 1st Line Support Engineer to join a fast growing company who specialise in Managed IT & Telecom Solutions. You will be working in a fast paced environment as part of a thriving team providing support to large blue chip companies throughout the Glasgow region.

The role:

* Record and respond to incidents, and monitor service desk queues.

* Manage customer cases on a daily basis using AutoTask, prioritising in accordance with SLA and related response times.

* Responsible for escalations of incidents to carriers/suppliers and engineers.

* Liaise with third party vendors.

* Fault diagnostics and resolution.

* Backup monitoring tools.

* Automated ticketing systems

Required skills:

* Clients: Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8

* Servers: SBS 2003, 2008, 2011 Windows server 2003, 2008

* Active Directory administration

* Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010 support and administration

* Antivirus solutions, virus and malware removal

* Backup solutions including Symantec backup exec

* Good knowledge of general desktop/office applications

* WSUS

* WDS

* Excellent communication skills and telephone manner

* Network - routers and switches

* Virtualisation

Desired skills:

* Server 2012

* Exchange 2013

* Certificate servers

* Lync server 2010 and 2013

* Network skills - LAN, WAN and WLAN

* Firewall support: ISA, TMG, Sonicwall

* Virtualisation knowledge

* DFS

The successful candidate must be a team player and have an interest in progressing their career within the Managed IT & Telecom sector and have excellent customer service skills as the role mainly involves speaking to clients and updating the system log, communicating information both internally and externally.
