A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a fast growing company who specialise in Managed IT & Telecom Solutions. You will be working in a fast paced environment as part of a thriving team providing support both on site and remotely to large blue chip companies throughout the Glasgow region.
The role:
* Provide assistance to 1st Line Support Engineer.
* Provide pre-sale support and advise to customers.
* Implement customer projects, new installations, upgrades and system changes.
Required skills:
* Clients: Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8
* Servers: SBS 2003, 2008, 2011 Windows server 2003, 2008, 2012
* Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS
* PKI
* Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 support and administration
* SQL
* Hyper V
* Antivirus solutions, virus and malware removal
* Backup solutions including Symantec backup exec, Microsoft * DPM
* Good knowledge of general desktop/office applications
* WSUS
* WDS
* Firewall setup and configuration, ISA, TMG, Sonicwall, Cisco
* Good all round network skills, design, configuration and support of LAN,WAN and WLAN infrastructures
* Configuration and support of Site to Site VPNs
* Server hardware build and repair
Desired skills:
* VMware
* Lync server 2010 and 2013
* Windows to Go
* Sharepoint
The successful candidate must have a full clean driving license, be a team player and have an interest in progressing their career within the Managed IT & Telecom sector and have excellent customer service skills as the role mainly involves speaking to clients and updating the system log, communicating information both internally and externally.
