Harvey Nash's Public Sector client is currently recruiting for 6 Java Developers to join a large programme of work based in their Edinburgh office. Reporting into the Programme Delivery Team, you will be responsible for developing web applications and API's for high profile projects. Collaboration is key in this role and requires outstanding communication and influencing skills along with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Skills

* Senior professional experience designing, implementing and scaling high traffic web applications and web services

* Development experience across the following stack:

o Server-side Java / JEE;

o HTTP, XML and JSON;

o Document, object or relational databases;

o SOAP or RESTful web services;

o Linux or Mac OSX operating system.

* Proficient with standard technical practices including unit testing, version control, continuous integration, coding

standards, design patterns & refactoring.

* Familiar with the realisation of system quality attributes. Particularly, security, performance, compatibility, resilience and

scalability.

* Experience of integrating with third-party web APIs.

Please note that you will require a valid Disclosure Scotland certificate to start and have experience of working in both Waterfall and Agile methods of project management.
