A well known and award winning Defence sector organisation are currently looking to recruit a Principal Microwave Engineer at their site in Edinburgh to work on design & development test of Microwave circuits/components/systems in support of a range of AESA radar products being developed within a Radar design team.

Principal Microwave Engineer will be responsible for:

* Concept and prototyping of Microwave PCBs and/or Modules.

* Design of Microwave modules employing the Company design processes including understanding of Design for Manufacture and Design for Test.

* Managing of design though the electronic drawing stage

* Handling technical queries during initial procurement and assembly of the designs

* Microwave test and verification of design performance

* Preparation of manufacturing data pack.

* Technical support to sub-contracts and engineering interface with manufacturing.

* Development test and design verification.

Principal Microwave Engineer Qualifications and Experience:

* Degree (Hons or Doctorate) in Electronic Engineering or related Science (e.g. Physics) with specialisation in high frequency circuits and receiver techniques supported by appropriate fundamental elements.

* S-parameter manipulation.

* EM simulation.

* Non-linear circuit simulation.

* Matching network design.

* Microwave component selection.

* Filter design.

* Requirements capture and management.

* Design for manufacture and cost.

* Familiar with current industry standard ECAD tools

The candidate should also have current practical experience in one or more of the following areas:-

* Microwave PCB Design.

* Microwave Hybrid Design.

* Microwave Sub-System Design.

* Knowledge of microwave power amplifier design technology.

* Miicrowave test including knowledge of advanced calibration and de-embedding techniques.

* Microwave GaAs/GaN MMIC or SiGe RFIC design

It is desirable that the candidate has expert knowledge in AWR Microwave office, CST Microwave studio, Agilent ADS, or AWR Visual System Simulator.
