Linux Engineer / System Administrator (Redhat CentOS Linux UNIX Market Data). Hugely successful Hedge Fund is seeking a passionate Linux Engineer with a broad range of technical skills. You will design and implement the latest Market Data feeds and technologies, as well as supporting existing infrastructure. Joining a talented team focused on Linux and Market Data projects, you will gain exposure to the full financial research cycle from data sourcing to research and execution platforms.

As a Linux Engineer you will install and manage 3rd party feeds and applications, keeping up to date with new vendors and technologies in the industry and constantly seeking new ways to improve Market Data latency. As the role progresses, you will have the opportunity to broaden your responsibilities to include project management, sourcing vendors, data licensing and contract negotiation while remaining hands-on technically.

Requirements:

'¢ Strong Linux / UNIX skills, ideally including Redhat / CentOS

'¢ Automation and scripting skills (e.g. bash, Perl, Python)

'¢ Understanding of monitoring and management application, possibly ITRS Geneos or Puppet

'¢ 2.1 degree in Computing or related subject from a reputable university and strong A-levels

'¢ Strong problem solving abilities

'¢ Financial experience would be an advantage

'¢ Ideally familiar with Market Data feeds
