C# Software Engineer - Streaming Audio - Scotland

A fantastic opportunity for a capable, motivated C# Software Engineer to join a world renowned developer of high end music systems who are looking for a smart developer (ideally interested in music) to help them develop and take ownership of their media server.

Responsibilities will include design and implementation of richer media browsing interfaces and integration to streaming services. Longer term, they are very interested in creating cloud-based servers. The server is developed in C# deployed to Mac, Linux and NASes (as well as Windows), so familiarity with the world beyond Microsoft would be useful.

All that said, they don't really mind what kind of experience you have, so long as you're proficient in an OO language and can show that you're interested

in good code.

They are totally committed to open standards and release a lot of their source code, so there is a very good chance that much of the code you develop will become available as open source. As a small team, every engineer gets to make a big difference and sees their code in shipping products.

Skills and Requirements:

* Strong experience in one of C#, C++ or Java

* Willing to learn and work in C# if that isn't your primary development language

* Experience both using and implementing networking protocols

Any of the following would be a bonus:

* User-level experience with streaming audio

* Interest in music

* Experience with database engines, including NoSQL

* Interest in open source and/or experience with open source projects
