I am looking for a Cost Management BA to join a top bank based in Edinburgh. The role will require you to come on board and help them with a new transfer agency project within their business.

The team is responsible for the effective financial management of each of these elements of cost base - covering Planning, Reporting and Financial Control. The team works with business leaders to lead the proactive management of the cost base and deliver real value for the bank through the achievement of real efficiencies, cost savings and enhanced value for money.

Key Accountabilities

Working with Finance Business Partners to develop and deliver high quality MI for each element of the cost base

Deliver accurate, timely and insightful reports on a regular basis, incorporating appropriate insight and analysis

Enhance underlying processes and methods, drawing on experience and a real sense of pragmatism to simplify and embed efficiencies

Build business and finance knowledge to enhance personal contribution to direct deliverables and broader team deliverables over time

Provide technical support and assistance to the business in a subject area, using own judgement as to when more complex queries require escalation

Deliver small-scale projects or well defined tasks on larger projects to improve support to the business

Responsibilities-

Qualified or studying for a professional finance qualification, or have equivalent relevant experience

Develop practical understanding of relevant financial systems and processes

Experience of SAP

Experience of Hyperion Planning System

Demonstrates knowledge of generic accounting skills, particularly P&L categorisation and interaction between P&L and balance sheet.

Demonstrates knowledge of the following: transactional processing, finance processes, cost and benefits tracking, cost and transfer pricing, income reporting, knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, understanding of accruals, performance against budget and forecasting, identification of business drivers e.g. margin analysis and contributes to processes delivering the above.

Contract role based in Edinburgh

6 month initial contract

250-300 per day
