Our client are defence electronics manufacturer specialising in cryptographic systems and Electronic Warfare. They have an exciting requirement for 3 new project coordinators to join them, working to deliver the latest cutting edge defence technology.

Primary Purpose of this Position

To provide project support to the Head of Projects and associated project teams

Secondary Purpose of this Position

To project manage small customer / IRAD projects within the business division.

Main Duties of this Position

- Lead and manage small projects (bid, development, delivery or support).

- Creation and execution of project resource management.

- Creation and maintenance of project & business metrics.

- Maintain risk, issue and action logs.

- Assist the project teams with project and risk planning.

- Project Manage and execute small-scale non-standard bids, with applicable support from project, technical, financial and commercial staff.

- Assist the bid/project manager in the production and maintenance of bid/project documentation, plans, schedules and costings.

- Assist the project teams in the building and maintaining of requirements databases.

- Co-ordinate & produce department reports and presentations.

- Advise and assist project teams in the application of project procedures, disciplines and standards.

- Develop and maintain effective communication mechanisms between the project teams.

- Maintain an effective link between Sales, Bids, Projects and Support.

- Minuting and action-tracking including attending meetings on client sites.

- Provide cover for other members of staff as required.

- Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company polices, processes and practices.

- Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies and ethics codes of conduct.

- Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

- Project support experience preferably including telecoms and/or MOD related projects

- Experience of supporting project managers in the production of reports and presentations

- Good understanding of the project lifecycle and preferably in a hardware and/or software development environment

- Advanced Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

- Strong organisational and administrative skills

- Effective communicator

- Strong team player who is also capable of working independently

- Be familiar with or willingness to learn requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)

- Current security clearance an advantage (& if not held must be willing to obtain)

- Knowledge of SAP an advantage
