Test Environment Coordinator

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Environment Coordinator who has a background in testing to join their Glasgow based team. This is a contract role with an initial duration of 6 months that may extend.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze REAP request, involve in estimation and finalize requirements

- Analyze and secure an environment for use and manage clashes of interest

- Manage provisioning of test ready environment including new build and changes .

- Produce environment definition (EDD), Environment Delivery Plan (EDP) environment tracker and PDR reports.

- Prepare an existing environment for use for new projects

- Provide co-ordination of manufactured / live test data into an environment

- Manage the Access requirement for new users and existing users

- Co-ordinate and manage deployments and control change into environments

- Manage incident resolution working with technical support team and restoration of environment availability

- Provision of coordinator effort to manage batch plan, batch scheduling & execution with required defect coordination

- Plan and co-ordinate backup, restore and back out tasks specific to project

- Co-ordinate project retrofit requirements where required

- Co-ordinate maintaining environment as live where required

- Co-ordination of maintenance activity for Environments

Job Content:

* Act as a single point of contact for projects regarding environment provision

* Project Lead the delivery of environment requirements for projects assigned

* Understand the structure of the SIT/CAT environment and tasks involved in its provision

* Estimate resource usage based on the project requirements; including resources not part of Environment Services

* Actively participate in progressing the project

* Notify users of environments outages and communicate any impact to Service Provision and EMER

* Enforce Release Management and Change Management procedures on project delivery

* Manage project expectations and set reasonable targets for the provision and availability of environments

* Create, maintain and deliver the Technical Environment build plan

* Input into the Status reports and attend the Environment Services project delivery review

* Attend project status meetings as required

* Manage Defects as required

* Input into the strategy to move the Environment Services team forward and participate in associated initiatives

Attributes:

* Track record of project delivery/delivery to a set plan

* Skilled in communication and presentation of information to team members and external teams

* Can peer review work of others providing constructive feedback

* Work as an effective coordinator, supporting staff and recognising the contributions of individuals to ensure the achievement of team goals

* Provide professional and ethical behaviour ensuring compliance with external legislation, NAG standards and operating policies and procedures

* Can manage own and others tasks to ensure progress against plan

Essential:

* Good organisation skills

* A good general technical background/understanding

* You will understand the project lifecycle and deliverables

* Experience in resource management

* An understanding of where testing fits into the project lifecycle

* Understanding of commercial IT systems and technologies

* Project delivery management exposure/experience
