My Edinburgh based client is currently looking for an Android Developer to join them on an initial three month contract to work on one of the most exciting projects in the Scottish market. You will be joining a closely knit team where you will be working with various other Android, iOS, and .NET developers.

To be successful in this role, the right candidate will have the following:

* 2+ years hands on Java and/or Android experience in a professional environment

* Published examples of mobile applications on the Google play

* Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.

* Solid understanding of the Android application framework and a strong Java background. A thorough understanding of Android components (Activities, Services, Intents, etc.) security and permissions and multi-threaded programming.

* Knowledge of modern version control systems (ideally SVN and Mercurial)

Desirable (but not essential) skills and experience:

* Experience with building Tablets specificUIs

* Capable to create Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability.

* Deliver across the entire app life cycle, including concept design, build, deploy, test, release to Play Store.

* Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

* Windows C# .NET windows Desktop application development
