Application Support Analyst / Contract / London / £400-£500pd

My client a top tier investment bank is looking for an Application Support Analyst with Equity Derivatives knowledge ideally to join their expanding team based in London.

What the role will entail:

Role is to perform an Application Support Analyst role within the IPED Technology Platform Support Team who are responsible for:

- Resolution of Level1 / Level2 application issues for a large range of users from Front Office / Middle Office / Back Office.

- Detailed analysis of technical issues with escalation to Level3 Development where necessary.

- Day to day management of a complex application suite.

- Management of production system stability and performance.

- Production environment improvement and capacity management.

- Out of hours support as necessary, systems are global in scope with support in India, Hong Kong and the US; however there is a requirement for on-call Level2 support.

Release management in conjunction with the Development Team.

Specific business knowledge & technical knowledge required

- Knowledge of Financial trading applications.

- Strong knowledge of SQL.

- Knowledge of Windows operating system.

- Commitment to delivering innovative and high quality solutions to demanding deadlines in a dynamic business unit.

- Ability to work in a pressured environment with minimal supervision.

- Ability to communicate to all levels of business including Senior Management.

- Previous application support experience in a trading environment with a minimum of 2 years in a front office role.

- Understanding of Equities products (Equity Derivatives, Equity Swaps, Stock Borrow / Loan, Portfolio Swaps) and their associated business / trade flow.

The candidate must be able to work in a highly dynamic environment with demanding users. The successful candidate will gain excellent exposure to the business area and products as well as the opportunity to work in a technically challenging, delivery focused environment.
