Progressive Global Energy has been tasked by a key account in Aberdeen to source an Operations Manager to join their team on a Permanent basis.

Our client is a leading UK independent electrical engineering group delivering design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.

Role:

This role is manage and develop the spares and repairs business reporting directly to the General Manager RM & Marine.

The position will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

* Develop and grow the spares and repairs business for the workshop

* Financial responsibility for the spares and repairs business including debt recovery, cost control and maximising profit

* Manage the workshop supervisor and the workshop team

* Technical support for both the workshop team and the internal and external sales team

* Assist Project Management team when required

* Ownership of the shop plan for workforce activities

* Attend customer visits to support growth of the business

* Manage the spares and repairs business with regards to order intake, invoicing and sales

* Work towards targets set out by the GM RM and Marine

* Attend management meetings when required

* Liaise with GM Aberdeen Marine business to support their customers with workshop activities and develop the relationships for Marine and RM synergies

* Liaise with other related business units for staffing requirements to fulfil the workshop activities to maximise recovery time

Essential Skills:

* Strong Commercial and Operational Experience

* Experience of leading a team of workshop/service employees

* Ability to work under pressure with strong organisational skills

* Track record of business growth

* Good knowledge of Microsoft packages i.e. Excel, Word , Access etc

Advantageous Skills:

* Good knowledge of AC/DC Motor/Generator service and repair

* Experience of working with Oil and Gas Customers

* Engineering Discipline

To be eligible for this role the candidate must meet the following criteria:

* Able to work in the UK without required sponsorship i.e tier 1 working visa
