QA Tester (Desktop Application)

Our client requires a QA Tester to be based onsite in Osterley, West London, for an initial 3 month contract, for £200-£230 per day Ltd.

Duration: 3 months initially

One of the UK's leading pay-TV providers is looking for a QA Tester with experience working on IPTV/VOD applications to join their industry leading software development team that uses cutting edge technology to provide applications that put our client first for online content, customer service and sales.

Role outline:

The team you will be joining design, build and support an online VOD renting and buying proposition. This proposition will enable new & existing customers to rent or buy movies via a variety of client devices. The area works closely with the team who enable rent and "Buy to Keep" functionality via the set top box.

Responsibilities:

1 Test planning and test execution.

2 Working in an Agile environment.

3 Creation and review of documentation (test plans, release notes, test scripts, defect reports etc).

4 Management of test results and reports.

5 Regular liaisons with project teams to understand test requirements.

6 Pro-actively assess testing standards in accordance with regulated guidelines.

7 Represent the Test Team in project meetings.

Skills desired:

1 Experience in testing, in both manual and automated tests

2 Experience of Agile methodology. Kanban, TDD and BDD experience is highly advantageous.

3 Experience with automated testing tools such as Cucumber or Selenium

4 Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills and a focused, determined, pro-active attitude.

5 Experience as a Team Leader or supporting Managers would be advantageous.

6 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

7 Experience of using a fault logging tool; i.e. Jira, Trello, Mingle

8 Use and creation of test scripts.

9 Ability to create simple software tools using programming languages would be highly advantageous.

10 Ability to innovate and adapt based on team needs
