Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to perform under pressure whilst maintaining a responsive and professional image at all times.

The primary responsibilities of the position are:

*Provide platform Unix and storage support, services support as a member of the Infrastructure team

*Provisioning of platform and storage services in UK (incl DR sites)

*Storage management; NetApp and tape backup services in NH

*Vendor relationship management; platform and storage vendors locally, supporting global vendor management process.

*3rd level support to local team

Technical Skills:

*A minimum of 5 years experience in an Infrastructure support environment with at least 2 years in a financial organisation

*Extensive experience in one or more of the following areas:

*Working Knowledge of one or more of the following areas:

*Linux / Solaris 8/10

*Netapp storage systems and backup technologies

*Veritas cluster server

*Unix Shell scripting

*Demonstrable aptitude to quickly pick up new infrastructure support skills

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; including the ability to communicate with non-technical users, and to understand their business priorities.

*Ability to affect professional liaison with other technical support groups and Vendors.
