Telecoms Engineer

Job Summary:

The clients Global Network & Computing Services Team (GNCS) are seeking an experienced, motivated Voice Telecommunications Engineer to join they Global Voice Services team here in EMEIA .

This person will primarily be responsible for supporting Apple's Contact Centre and Corporate Voice environments, based at Apple's EMEIA Operations Headquarters in Cork, Ireland.

Description:

The successful candidate will join the Global Network and Computing Services team where they will have responsibility for the day-to-day support of the clients Voice infrastructure in EMEA .

Key responsibilities include:

Deployment and support of telecoms infrastructure across the clients Voice infrastructure in EMEA.

Work closely with external vendors and Telco carriers to deliver on agreed SLA s.

Driving Voice technology projects and key system upgrades.

Provide engineering/analytical support for Apple's key customers.

Work with Project Managers to develop project plans and deliver project tasks

Required Skills and Responsibilities:

Strong troubleshooting skills and background in supporting Voice switching, Data Networks, VoIP, SIP, H323 and TDM Signaling

Understanding of IP Voice codecs (G711/G729), Telephony signalling (ISDN/PRI/H323/SIP).

In depth experience and strong knowledge supporting the Avaya Systems Platform including:

Communication Manager, Session Manager/System Manager, Avaya S8xxx, LSP, ESS, CMS, Aura Messaging, G450, G650, G700, and G350 Gateways. AES (CTI).

Knowledge of ACME Packet/Oracle or other SBC platforms, Genesys infrastructure, Cisco Routers and Switches

Experience of Carrier IN and routing platforms.

Excellent communications skills and technical knowledge required.

Knowledge of Cisco/Tandberg Video Conferencing, HLS Streaming

Ability to troubleshoot IP/SIP telephony issues.

Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Interface with other vendors ie Carrier Service providers, 3rd party Vendors.

Determine project costs, ensure delivery of tasks on time and within budgetary guidelines.

Ability to clearly define and explain technical issues.

Willing to learn new technologies and new products

Must be capable of independent problem solving.

Ability to organise and work effectively with other teams.

Will be required to provide after hours and on call support.

Ability to travel to other countries in EMEA, APAC and AMR.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in a technical field; Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience. .

Avaya ACA and or ACS certifications (preferred) .

5-10 years minimum working with Avaya products and services

Advanced networking experience with IP and SIP applications.

Project Management qualifications or equivalent job experience

Telecoms Carrier Management experience. (Mobile and/or Fixed).

Cisco Certification (ie CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent job experience
