PR and Communications Manager - External - Rosyth / Edinburgh / Glasgow / Bristol with travel - Generous package circa £46,000 with benefits

Our client is a FTSE100 listed key player in the Marine and Defence Technology industries with a strong presence across the UK. Coupled with a strong order book in Defence, the business have an excellent portfolio in Marine technology, and have growing interests in O&G and renewables.

To aid the continued strong performance of the business and to continually improve on the brand image of this reputable organisation, we are seeking an experienced and passionate PR and Communications Manager to be responsible for External PR and Communications activities across the business with regular visits to the dedicated PR and Communications teams in Rosyth, Clyde, Bristol and Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop positive networks with media, community groups, business and partner organisations.

- Working with the Head of PR and Comms to plan, develop and implement client PR Strategy to support client M&T business.

- Working to enhance our social media and web content so that they are engaging, reaching wider audiences, ultimately building on organisational reputation.

Campaign:

- Take the lead on developing and delivering fit for purpose PR and Comms strategies to support the BUs and sites as appropriate

- Oversee the delivery of campaign resources, communication and project manage campaign related research and briefings as appropriate

- Develop content across a range of media platforms including social media, print, online, email, mobile, web, screen based and signage

- Pro actively securing media opportunities and being prepared to respond to both positive and potentially challenging responses to the campaign

- Understand and put in place mitigation of risks associated with campaigns and developing strategies to manage both positive and negative PR

- Take the lead on all PR and communication, campaigns and appeals to increase the client profile

- To undertake market research as necessary, to identify new promotional opportunities in order to write topical Press releases and new stories to raise awareness and support

- Raise awareness of the work client undertakes at a both local and national level - this may involve giving talks to groups, attending conferences, networking or dealing with the media

General:

- Championing client brand and reputation

- Editorial responsibility for all press releases and communications

- To manage internal - external PR and Communications budget

Essential:

- Relevant capability and experience in running successful PR and Comms campaigns

- Experience in facilitating group discussions

- Current and relevant experience of press and media engagement

- Experience in public speaking and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and establishing internal and external relationships

- Producing and distributing high quality materials to a wide audience using a variety of mediums

Desirable:

- Project management qualification

- Journalism qualification

- CIPR member

Remuneration and package:

- Circa £46,000 per annum basic salary dependent on experience
