Role duties

* To lead a technical team focused on delivering a Solution Design which is fit-for-purpose and of sufficient detail to serve as an input to the build phase of the Software Lifecycle.

* To work with the Technical Analysts, assisting in the formation of requirements and analysis artefacts.

* To identify enhancements to existing development services and processes on an ongoing basis in order to continually improve service levels.

* To ensure that design standards, methods and tools are adhered to and are used appropriately.

* To work to quality methods within the overall strategy and standards framework

* To identify and recommend actions to improve process to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

We would expect you to have:

* Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple stakeholders

* Experience of designing, implementing and integrating substantial package and bespoke system solutions

* IT experience in an enterprise scale environment

* Knowledge of multiple technologies - databases, middleware, COTS packages and Java

* Strong knowledge and experience of software development lifecycles and design patterns

* Very strong communication skills, including influencing skills
