Exciting Wintel Technical Specialist Role in Glasgow
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Depending On Experience

My client is looking for an experienced Unix & ESB Technical Specialist with experience in Message Broker to be added to their team in the heart of Glasgow.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
* Run Unix components within integrated test environments.
* Initial diagnosis of environment issues and progress resolution
* Manage risks and issues, supporting identification and resolution
* Liaise with Technical Delivery lead, Engineering Rooms and Service Provision regarding resource/support requirements to meet environment support activities where appropriate
* Review and deploy Message Broker code into Test environments
* Participate in error tracing & correction
* Manage MB flows, queues and clusters
* Define and maintain processes for: Unix environment build / Deployment of project deliverables / Test Environment Support
* Continuous Improvement of Unix environment installation, internal tools and processes, configuration and application deployment processes
* Collate and report metrics to Technical Delivery lead
Key Experience:
* Experience in Unix Application Support
* Strong understanding of Deployment Exposure
* Strong experience in Shell scripting, debugging and defect analysis/ respolution
* BODI application support experience
* Experience of Oracle SQL and Mainframe
* Knowledge of Message Broker and Datapower
Main Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Set-up of application & ownership of environment.
* Deployment of custom code and data
* Application maintenance and housekeeping
* Technical Shakedown
* Project Support
* Build and Configure
* Back-up and restore
* Continuous Improvement
* Report weekly metrics and manage timescales
* Environment user access management
* Environment administration
* Review project inputs
* Environment defect resolution (1st Level)
* Identification and escalation of risks and issues
* Set up and Action (Emerald) CB tool tasks for the deployment of Projects and maintenance of the Environment services environments.
* Maintain the access scripts (RACF groups) for Testing Services
