My client, a Tier 1 Investment bank based in Canary h is looking for a high level Virtualisation Engineer with a back ground in Linux/Unix.

Job Level: Consultant

Overview

* Design, configure, test, and integrate vSphere solutions

* Contribute to certification, benchmarking, performance monitoring, and capacity management tooling.

* Integrate with systems for automated configuration and alerting.

* Document and communicate designs, interfaces, and operational procedures.

Description

The Virtualization Platform Engineering team is seeking a broadly competent engineer with deep infrastructure experience. The engineer will work in designing, testing, and configuring the platform hosting many thousands of virtual servers and desktops. A successful candidate will have deep virtualization and systems management experience, strong networking and storage infrastructure knowledge and a willingness to work with a range of systems, tools, and scripting languages. Additionally, demonstrated history of being self-directed and ability to operate in a highly complex, quickly moving environment with the constant introduction of new technologies are required.

Qualifications

Required Skills

* Strong VMware ESXi and/or KVM

* Strong Linux / Unix Skills (trouble shooting, performance testing, config management)

* Networking (CCNA or equivalent experience preferable)

* SAN / NAS Configuration / Management

* Python / Perl Scripting

Desired Skills

* Performance Testing / Benchmarking

* ITIL

* Windows

* Windows

* Quattior scripting (bonus)

The ideal candidate will be skilled in VMware/Vsphere Virtualisation and have a a good background in Unix/Linux System Admin and good knowledge of provisioning processes and build automations.
