THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the Engineering Project Management Team. As a key member of the team you will ensure that projects are effectively defined, planned and executed.

You will work closely with the Chief Engineers and senior management to provide clear communication, status and process to ensure control and timely delivery of our projects.

Assignments will vary from being responsible for the Engineering Project Management of an entire Cat 0 project, to covering a number of Cat 2 projects or being assigned to support any project on a specific critical area as requested.

You will be supported in your role by the other members of the Project Management function and together as a function will work across all projects to share information, set priorities and help each other.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Deliver project and drive activities according to WBS & detailed project schedule

* Provide regular metrics & reports describing the status of the project on a range of engineering deliverables

* Manage change within the project, including design changes (C65)

* Manage multiple BOM's (Bills Of Material's) for product variants.

* Drive the issue resolution process and ensure effective prioritisation

* Develop and maintain the project Risk Register including plans for mitigation

* Support planning & monitoring of the project budget for headcount, materials & purchased services

* Work with the Operations Programme Manager to facilitate effective communication, escalation of issues and cross-functional working.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

* Degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline

* Extensive Project Management experience ideally in an engineering/manufacturing environment

* Good communication & leadership skills

* Demonstrated ability to work proactively

* Rigorous and positive approach

* Determination to complete tasks and follow process

Desirable:

* Experience of working in an automotive OEM or supplier

* PMI or Prince2 credentials

* Six Sigma certified
