APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST - JAVA, UNIX, DATABASES - DOCKLANDS; £50K

The role is to work for a global organisation which provides intelligent insights to large Financial, Legal, Tax and Accounting, Science and Media markets institutions, enabling them to make confident decisions faster.

They are currently looking to hire an APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST to support their major online services. Based in CANARY WHARF, this role pays up to £50,000 + 10% bonus potential, pension, health, etc.

The role

As an Application Support Analyst, you will be supporting 15+ live services within the Risk division.

The team is spread in various geographical locations (including India, the USA and London) and the aim is to increase the capabilities of the London team.

As part of a growing team in a "startup-like" environment, you will be given the opportunity to shape the processes that are currently used and work with a variety of applications, most of which are business critical.

You will provide application support to the Java based online services and resolve complex technical issues for both internal and external customers.

Essential skills / experience required

As an Application Support Analyst, you will have experience of the following:

- Java application support experience is essential to be considered (i.e. deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting and fixing Java applications);

- experience supporting online / web based applications;

- experience of maintaining, configuring and running Unix/Linux systems;

- understanding of databases;

- Tomcat and Apache;

- understanding of messaging technologies (e.g. RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc.);

- some understanding of networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
