We are currently recruiting for a Programme Office Support to join a client based in Newcastle on a 12 Month initial contract

Daily Rate: Dependant on experience - £280 - £312
Duration: 12 Month Initial Contract
Location: Newcastle
Clearance: Must be eligible for Disclosure Scotland clearance
Start: ASAP

Key tasks and responsibilities

Support / resilience for the UC Release Management functionProviding integration / liaison functions between supplier and IT / business DWP teamsMonitoring / challenging / managing supplier progressCreating / monitoring Release plans and associated dependencies, managing / overseeing the management of risksCreating and / or critically reviewing release related lifecycle productsDefining, establishing and managing the standard PMO processes for the programme/project, including the implementation and application of the DWP Risk Management Framework, change control process, quality assurance process, configuration management process and planning and reporting functions.Analysing and reporting to the Project Manager on progress and slippage against plans, dependencies, risk management and change control, providing reports and updates to Programme/Project Manager at agreed intervals.Supporting the project to ensure risks are being recognised, documented accurately and handled correctly, supporting risk owners to ensure mitigation action is being taken on risks in accordance with Department risk management process.Supporting the project to ensure lessons learned are being recorded, highlighted to the Project Manager and shared where appropriate.Supporting the Programme/Project Manager and the PMO Manager in preparing for reviews and gates.Providing secretariat support to UC IT Project Meetings/Steering Groups/Committees, maintaining action and decision logs.  Experience required:
Sound Project Management experience / skillsFamiliar with working in a dynamic multi-supplier environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills - must be able to interact effectively with senior management within and outside the IT delivery projectAble to multi-task effectively to manage competing demands and challenging timescales whilst delivering high quality products or outcomesAble to interpret technical and business products and assess for accuracy / completeness / operabilityA proven understanding of risk management with the ability to provide guidance and challenge on the identification, assessment, management and reporting of risks.You must have critical-thinking abilities and good communication skills.PRINCE2 qualification or equivalent If this role sounds interesting, please get in touch with an up to date copy of your CV.
