Development Tester

We are looking for a Development Tester for our leading client in the telecommunications sector who will become a key part of the Development Team. This is a permanent role, based in Glasgow with a salary circa £28,000 - £35,000 based on experience.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Work closely with software designers and programme managers, assist the design process by correct and accurate testing of products and solutions

- Provide application instructions for users

- Comply with best practice, accepted web standards and upstream standards

- Provide analysis of test results

The ideal candidate for the Development Tester role will have at least two years experience as a software tester or junior developer with a firm understanding of Data networking, VMWare and Database Environments. As well as

- A Degree in a Computer or Mathematics related subject

- An understanding of software development, Test Driven Design and other Testing methodologies

- Have previous experience of drafting test cases, test plans and test strategies

- Working knowledge of operating systems both Windows and Linux Server

It is also desirable to have

- Familiarity with contact centre technology (Avaya, Verint), platform monitoring solutions and concepts, and software deployment methodologies.

- Good knowledge of SQL database administration

- Experience of application and solution troubleshooting

- Some understanding of Contact Centre industry technical and operational trends

The successful candidate for the Development Tester role will have good spoken and written English to enable them to present results and solutions to management and clients at all levels. You will have an inquisitive nature and be constantly trying to find new and innovative ways of increasing the effectiveness of systems, processes and procedures.
