Enigma People Solutions have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior ASIC Design Engineer for an outstanding Edinburgh electronics client.

Job Description:

Contribute to the design and development of an ASIC/SoC for a novel wireless

communications technology in a lead role. Responsibilities will encompass all

aspects of the product development cycle from specification, microarchitecture,

design, verification, physical design and characterisation.

Responsibilities:

Work with the hardware and firmware teams in order to perform requirements

capture, system level architecture definition, analysis and development of

a specification, interface control document (ICD) and test plan for the ASIC/SoC.

Plan, architect, implement and deliver production quality RTL logic blocks covering

complex peripherals and the PHY layer of the company's wireless communication

product for FPGA verification prior to committing the design to silicon.

Identify and optimise performance bottlenecks.

Develop low level firmware.

Work with designers to achieve timing closure and guide.

Essential skills and expertise:

Minimum 5 years of hands on industrial experience in all aspects of the chip

development process with a track record of taking at least two ASIC/SoC designs

from concept to production.

Expertise in high speed RTL design and verification, gate level synthesis and

simulation, timing closure, power and signal integrity analysis and testability.

Experience designing high performance, low power ASICs/SoCs from scratch.

Knowledge of digital communication techniques (modulation, coding, sampling,

Desirable skills and expertise:

High level programming (C/C++, assembler) and scripting (e.g., Python, Perl,

Tcl/Tk).

Embedded processor design.

Experience or knowledge CPU & IP Integration, power and clock management

techniques.

Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and EDA tools.
