.Net / Investment Bank / Contract / Central London / £450-£550pd

My client a well respect asset management firm based in central London is looking for an all round candidate who is a developer but ideally understands convertible bonds. They're not looking for a quant but a guy who can chip in to the current team which is ever growing.

You will have very good communications skills and will be able to speak to the business and the infrastructure and development teams.

Successful candidates will be able to:

* Turn their hand to dealing with various infrastructure groups so has a general understating of networks, server admin, DBA's, storage - but doesn't need to be expert in any of these fields.

* Write and run SQL - again doesn't need to be an expert, but needs to extract and/or update data from a large and fairly complex database they may not be familiar with.

* Analyse data - specifically in this case we will be migrating data from one or two systems to a new system - they will need to establish that the migration method works and prove it (with assistance from the vendor) so they need to understand what is required pro-actively and not be spoon-fed - they should get that in migrating from A to B as you will need to be able to ensure precisely the right data is moved, the dependencies on static and relational tables etc.

* Maintain a task list and high level plan of vendor actions, key dependencies such as server or resource availability etc… Basically if someone is a planner - not necessarily a project manager, that works. "deadline-driven" people who can't plan ahead would be tougher for this one.

* Interpret business-language into Technical requirements.

* Understand enough about Convertible bonds, and the associated static & market data that sits with it to establish what market data feeds they need to procure and install, and oversee and install.

* Document key tasks / flows as necessary for sharing with support staff.
