Job responsibilities

* Carry out the full range of duties of an Specialist Inspector including:

* Provide expert advice on control & instrumentation systems matters to industry

Carry out topic assessments of offshore installation safety cases;

* Carry out topic inspections of offshore oil and gas installations across the UKCS;

* Investigate accidents, incidents and complaints alone or as part of a team.

* Support enforcement action, including preparing specialist reports and providing expert evidence in legal proceedings;

* Make technical contributions to the development of industry standards and guidance.

Essential criteria

* A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject;

* A registered Chartered Engineer or the qualifications and experience needed to become one;

* Post graduate engineering experience relating to safety-related control & instrumentation systems in the offshore oil and gas industry.

* Knowledge and experience of relevant engineering codes and standards;

* You must be able to satisfy offshore medical & survival training requirements. You must be willing and able to regularly spend short periods working away from home, including on offshore oil and gas installations.
