Programmer : C++ / Fortran : Permanent : Aberdeen - up to 34K

Abrecco wish to recruit an experienced Programmer on behalf of our client based in Aberdeen. In this role you will work as part of a team responsible for delivering software solutions for computer modelling applications. As this team works across a number of projects there is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to new skills, you will also be involved in the evaluation of software for future use. Our client is looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

Essential:

- PhD / MSc in Computing Science or related subject

- Experience with a wide variety of languages; ideally including C++ and Fortran

- Full software development lifecycle experience

- Experienced MS Office user

Desirable:

- Experience of computational modelling

- Experience with agent-based model (ABM) or individual-based model (IBM)

- Experience in programming with Python, R, or Netlogo

- Experience with Windows desktop and Linux platforms
