My Global Manufacturing and Production client based in Glasgow is looking for a 3rd line Network Technician who will be responsible for the design, testing, implementation, documentation, and support for the Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) equipment and functionality. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organisation in an exciting time of transition for the company.

You will be Working with the Help Desk to log and track all user issues and problems. They pride themselves on working well as a team and as a result have a resolution time of two hours.

If required you can escalate calls to the next level if a solution is not found. You will be expected to work with PC Technicians on a 1st and 2nd line capacity to ensure every issue is resolved.

In your role you will have the opportunity to evaluate technician workloads and recommend changes to maximize site coverage.

Technologies Required

* Design, document, implement, and support the Wide Area Network operations and Local Area Network (LAN) operations.

* Install and administer Microsoft Server and other network operating systems.

* Familiarity with Microsoft DHCP, DNS, WINS, RRAS, and TCP/IP.

* Familiarity with Windows Server Active Directory design, operation, and implementations.

* Design, document, implement, and support Microsoft Exchange and clients.

* Design, document, implement, and support Microsoft SQL servers and SQL server resources.

* Design, document, implement, and support Microsoft SCCM desktop management systems and clients.

* Provide support for Microsoft Backoffice Products, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Internet Information Server, and Microsoft SMS.

* Provide consistent customer service to both internal and external customers.

* Perform server and security audits.

* Perform system backups and recovery.

* Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.

* 3-5 years' experience providing support for Windows in a networked environment

* 3-5 years' experience of implementation, design, and support of networking hardware and software

* Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Server, TCP/IP, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SCCM and Citrix

* Strong written and oral communication skills.

* Good interpersonal skills.

* Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

* Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

* Self-motivated and directed.

* Keen attention to detail.

* Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

* Strong customer service orientation.

* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
