Based in Edinburgh the Senior EMC Engineer will work for an international leader in electronic and information technologies for defence systems, aerospace, data, infrastructures, land security and protection and sustainable 'smart' solutions. Senior EMC Engineer to work within a small team in a UKAS accredited EMC test laboratory which mainly undertakes design proving and qualification testing on our own products. The role involves undertaking and completing a range of EMC test tasks in a professional manner, in accordance with the relevant standards and specifications. Additionally the successful candidate will be required to provide support to EMC test, qualification and fault finding across the full range of our Edinburgh Site programmes.

To be successful in this role the Senior EMC Engineer will have the following skills and experience

* HNC, HND or degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant electrical / electronic engineering discipline.

* Will have a good overall knowledge of Military EMC test standards and will also have made extensive use of these in 'hands-on' testing.

Standards will include

*MIL STD 461

*BS 3G 100: Part 4: Section 2

*DEF STAN 59-41 RTCA Section 21

*Experienced in the use and calibration of EMC / RF Test Equipment

*Strong IT based skills, with proven communication and organisation skills.

*Practical hands-on experience in a busy test lab environment.

*Will have a good understanding of the health and safety requirements for EMC test facilities.

*Good understanding of the engineering life cycle.
