Principle Tester - Signalling (Rail)

An amazing opportunity has arisen within the UK's leading Engineering Support Services Organisation. They are the leading player in the UK rail infrastructure market and the largest conventional track renewals company in the country, and they are currently looking for a Principle Railway Signalling Tester to join their team.

Responsibilities

You will carry out testing and commissioning duties, predominantly as Tester-in-Charge or Principle Tester to ensure that all projects are delivered successfully. Your main tasks will include:

* Producing test documentation including test specifications

* Carry out the role of Tester-in-Charge, Principle Railway Signalling Tester and other roles as required on site

* Directing and supervising testing resources associated with the projects at hand, whether internal staff or external contractors

* Ensuring adherence to laid down standards for Signal Testing are strictly maintained and all relevant documentation requirements are met

* Act as a mentor for the on-going competencies for Authorities to work and the IRSE Licensing Scheme

The successful Principle Tester will be proficient in all areas of testing and commissioning and competent to test different types of railway signalling systems. The organisation can help you develop your existing knowledge through their training and continuous development.

Qualifications

Essential:

* Signal Works Testing Mod1 (C)

* Signal Works Testing Mod2 (S)

* IRSE Licence - TiC (1.3.190)

* IRSE Licence - Principles tester (1.3.180)

Preferable:

* Signal Works Testing Mod2(C)

Requirements

* Extensive knowledge and experience within the Rail sector

* Flexibility with location - company main offices in Hamilton, Crewe, Derby, Bristol

* Computer literate

* Man management skills

* Leadership

* Analytical

* Planning and organisation skills

There is a certain level of flexibility needed for this role in regards to working away from home and a requirement to work weekends and evenings whenever necessary. This will be rewarded by a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
