A leading Defence company require a Systems Engineer to support the deployment of the PLM System.

**Purpose of role**

Implement and facilitate the Type 26 through life Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, policy and supporting toolset. Assist the deployment and 'policing' of the PLM processes & controls in each lifecycle phase and enable measurement of the PLM system (including technical data dashboarding).

Contribute to developing the guidelines and supporting the execution of configuration of product information for the Type 26 Programme. This specifically includes involvement in Identification, Configuration Control, Status Accounting & Verification, and Audit & Preparation of product information (including generating Product baselines).

**Major Tasks and Activities**

- Assist in the overall co-ordination of Type 26 Lifecycle Product Lifecycle management.

- Implement appropriate processes and controls for each phase of the product lifecycle and ensure required level of reporting is delivered for PLM stakeholders.

- Assist in the collation and execution of through life data management for the project.

- Engage regularly with Type 26 personnel (notably the Engineering teams) to ensure PLM capability is collectively

**Key Technical Skills**

- Experience of theory and/or delivery of PLM and/or Configuration Management disciplines throughout the product lifecycle.

- Use of PLM support technology such as Windchill, Teamcenter etc.

- Strong communication skills.

- Knowledge of appropriate Product Lifecycle Management development methodologies/strategies.

- Understanding of data/information relationships and the ability to apply this understanding pragmatically.

**Company/Industry Knowledge**

- Understanding of complex products and their lifecycles.

- Appreciation of the IT systems and applications used to design, build and support complex products.

- Understanding of the data generated for complex product development, and the supporting tools and techniques.

**Qualifications**

- Technical qualification in an engineering, scientific or IT discipline, such as HND, HNC etc. or equivalent.
