Job Title - Bi Analyst
Location - Edinburgh
Salary - £350-410 per day
Key Tasks
* Input and creation of LLD ensuring output adheres to best practises and ensuring development input and adherence.
* Promoting the use of a requirements knowledge centre that facilitates the use and understanding of the requirements by all required parties and manages changes to those requirements.
* Ensuring requirements are passed to development and test teams in an intuitive and consistent manner.
* Liaising closely with otherteam members and subject matter experts to ensure that accurate and effective support documentation is maintained to reflect requirement changes
* Ensuring that risks and issues are identified in a timely manner and effectively communicated proposed resolution and mitigation strategies to the portfolio manager.
* Working within both development and test showing an excellent understanding of specification documents or test plans
* Proactively and positively challenge the status quo and searches for continual improvements to processes and ways of working
* Regularly assess own ability against peers and ensure progress in ability and skillset.
* Operate as a product owner helping to define product vision and guide product development.
* Define and prioritise product features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
* Update into the product roadmap and manage the product backlog.
* Carry out Impact Assessment from current to future state and contribute to estimates for the cost of the proposed changes.
* Providing incident insight to support and development to enable resolution of incidents in a timely manner.
Key Competencies
* In depth understanding of Business Intelligence best practice and principles
* Experience of data integration projects on a large scale environment(s)
* A proactive and positive approach to the role. The role requires the individual to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
* Proven experience of analysis skills in the context of complex BI systems and prioritising business requirements against benefit
* Excellent at requirement gathering using various methods and styles coupled with a strong technical awareness to be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical parties.
* Excellent SQL skills
* Proven knowledge and experience in Dimensional Modelling.
* A proven ability to influence design decisions in a fast moving commercial environment
* Demonstrates excellent people skills
* Demonstrates exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and consistent high energy level
* Ability to juggle the (often conflicting) demands of multiple projects and work packages
